Product Category Description:
Powerful motor and effective generator action combine to rapidly break down plant and animal tissue, heart muscle, and cancerous tumors in only 30–60 seconds. Direct mechanical action cuts, rips, and pulverizes samples for complete homogenization. Homogenizers are also useful for preparation of pharmaceuticals and emulsions.
This durable homogenizer contains a high-speed motor for homogenizing all types of samples. Includes a remote speed controller. Interchangeable stainless steel generators are designed for long-term use. Unit features a 750W motor and variable speed control up to 27,000rpm.
The generators are designated "Quick-Connect" as they can be connected/disconnected from the homogenizer quickly and easily. These generators work via the rotor/stator system, in which samples are drawn into the center of the generator tip, vigorously mixed, accelerated, pressed through the narrow gap between the rotor and stator, and forced out between the teeth of the stator. Rotors and stators are cut from a solid block of 316L stainless steel resulting in a stronger, thicker-walled stator tube that extends generator life and prevents deformation.
Ordering Information: The PT 10/35 is supplied with 750W drive unit with lock nut, remote speed controller, base plate, rubber mat, stand rod, two cross sleeves, and vessel holder. Generators (required for operation) are sold separately. For routine homogenizing, select a generator with saw teeth. For muscle and fibrous tissue, choose a generator with knives. To minimize aeration and foaming, choose a foam-reducing generator. Generators with knives are used for processing samples that require precutting and that are larger than generator diameter. Generators are autoclavable at 121°C (250°F) at 15psi for 15 minutes.
