The attachment incorporates an
Optical Path Selector (OPS), which controls a sliding semi-reflective mirror, and an aperture diaphragm.
For contrast enhancement, two filter slots accept the three included filters (green, blue
and yellow]. An analyzer and polarizer are also included. For the most light-demanding
Darkfield studies, a centerable 6V/15W halogen bulb provides bright, uniform illumination,
while an external power supply unit ensures continuous intensity control.
Only ordered as
an Upgrade Package (UP-EA5), the EA-5 comes with five objectives and two spare bulbs in a
wooden box. The EA-5 Epi-lllumination attachment is used with high-performance Achromatic Epi-Objectives able to act as their own Darkfield or Brightfield condenser, therefore allowing quick change between contrast techniques. The revolving nosepiece slides out and one of the five included objectives screws in. |
