If the 4,000 object computerized database and automatic alignment capabilities aren't inspiring enough, add to that the easily assembled, quick-release fork arm and there exists one of the smartest, user-friendly telescope available today.

Celestron NexStar GT telescopes love to travel. Sturdy and solid, they provide rigid low-vibration performance, with quiet, high precision servo motors. Powered by 8 "AA" user-supplied batteries or an optional AC adapter (#18770), NexStar telescopes aren't tethered to civilization-they carry it with them. Best of all, those sophisticated electronics are designed by the engineers of Celestron , right down to the circuit boards, for tested superior performance. Featuring high-quality Maksutov-Cassegrain optics, Celestron NexStar 4 GT Maksutov Cassegrain Telescope - 11041 is an ideal telescope for observing and photographing the wonders of space. Incredible light-gathering and a full degree field of view give the observer views 189% brighter than a 60mm refractor.

Celestron NexStar-4 GT 11041 is a marvel at short-exposure astrophotography, and the sturdy construction provides an extremely stable observation platform for making observing at higher magnifications much easier. Celestorn NexStar4GT has altazimuth operation, so you'll be able to observe without a polar alignment. If the two bright alignment stars are not visible, Celestron NexStar GT will conquer the task. Just enter the date, time and location, and the scope will align itself to the necessary stars.

With Celestron NexStar 's ergonomically-designed hand control, the user is free to remove the hand control from the fork arm for remote use or leave it mounted for hands-free operation. With a touch of a button one selects the object catalog, changes the slew speed, view fascinating information about an object, or simply know if a desired object is visible in the sky.
