Elcan Digital Video Riflescope Digital Hunter Electronic Rifle Scope by ELCAN Optical Technologies: The world's first digital riflescope brings imagethe power of modern electronics and software to the shooting sports. Electronic ballistic compensation enables the shooter to hold where you want to hit! Elcan DigitalHunter is a range compensating riflescope, removing one contributor from the shooting equation. The Elcan DH1 has four field selectable reticles, when coupled with the four ballistic data tables, enable the scope to function as four different hunting rifle scopes. It can be setup for a centerfire rifle, a shotgun (great for turkey), a crossbow and a muzzleloader. Since the reticles are graphic images they can be any color, shape or size that can be drawn by the user via bitmap generating software...circles, lines, squares. Parallax is avoided since they aren't physical features of an image plane.

The Elcan digital hunter DH1 low light mode displays all the available visible light and the near infrared light (that you can't see but the scope can see) enabling great low light performance right up to 30 minutes before & after civil twilight. Utilizing the near infrared means more light is available to the riflescope for brighter imagery in low light scenarios. After dark, active night vision enables mostly covert surveillance and varmint hunting (where legal). The effective range of the active night vision depends on the power and power density of the IR Flashlight.
