Designed to dry gels up to 33.6Lx42.3Wcm (137/32x1621/32") or any combination of smaller gels for preservation or processing such as autoradiography or densitometry.

An 800W heating element warms the platen, providing even, gentle heat. The sturdy aluminum platen effectively holds heat, preventing temperature fluctuation. Two four-hour timers are provided, one for the heating element and one for the vacuum source. A temperature control knob allows varying drying temperatures from 40°C to 80°C. A Mylar* film sheet and porous polyethylene sheet are provided as covers for various gel types. The polyethylene sheet helps to reduce cracking in high concentration gels. A translucent silicone rubber cover provides a vacuum seal which keeps gels flat while allowing viewing during the drying process.
