Nikon vs Zeiss

Postby Garlaboob on Mon Nov 21, 2005 10:24 am

Hello. If am wanting to buy a compact pair of binoculars for birdwatching. I have narrowed it dow to 2 http://www.opticsplanet.com/zeiss-10x25 ... 22034.html and these one's here http://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-10x25 ... ulars.html

Now if I could ask this. First off what is the better choice here. Good optics are a must. Secondly whatever one you choose could you tell me a little about the performence of the binocular? Lastly is there any other birding binoculars that maybe you could suggest. I can't spend no more than $400. Thank you very much. :)

Hi

In my tests on charts and out in the field, the Nikon scores as high as any compact made, including the much more expensive Leica Ultravid. I have used the Nikon extensively for birding and I guarantee it to be as good as a compact can be for this application. Resolution and edge to edge sharpness is excellent, as is the eye relief.
