Steiner V/S Nikon
We are looking for general viewing/birding Binos. We found two Steiner 8X30 IF (special edition for the Middle east named Falcon) and Nikon 7x35 central maual focusing. Steiner is double the cost. arond $ 150. Also, kids would use them.
What is your recommendation purely on performance?
For a general purpose birding bino, center focus is the only useful focusung system, since a great deal of birding is done at less than 30 yards. At these shorter ranges, an IF focusing bino such as the Steiner is not a pricatical alternative.
