Camera binoculars for horse racing?

Postby Kalfaari on Tue Dec 20, 2005 9:33 pm

I was considering camera binoculars as a Christmas present for my boyfriend (a Nexxtech 2MP model for $99 (regular $169).

Would he be able to take sports shots with this, like horse racing and football, or would it all just be a blur?

If I'm going to buy it, it has to be tomorrow so this is URGENT!

Hello. To be honest, those binocular camera's are nothing but a gimmick. No, the pictures won't be a blur, but expect them to be of low quality. For $99 you could get a pretty decent set of binoculars like these one's here ... ulars.html or maybe these one's These are very nice optics for the money

I hope this helps you Kalfaari. Happy Holidays :D

I agree. Good advice, Jimbo.

For that price you can get a good, useable compact binocular, but not if you opt for a digital binocular. The two Jimbo mentioned are good choices as is the Pentax UCF XII, ... -8x25.html

Thanks for the replies - I appreciate your advice!

He already has binoculars and a digital camera. I found camera binoculars on a list of the 10 best gifts for men this Christmas. I just thought this was a cute 'toy' and it tied into his sports' interests.

I guess it's back to the drawing board but thanks for saving me $100!
