Deciding between: Leupold Mojave, Burris Euro Diamond, &

Postby bw111 on Fri Feb 06, 2009 9:40 am

I need help! I'm trying to decide between these 3 binoculars: Leupold Mojave, Burris Euro Diamond, and the Vortex Razor. Does anyone have any experience with any of these optics? I like the open bridge feel, but can't justify $1000+ for the amount use they'll get. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

Hi

Keep in mind that you pay more for that open bridge design. You'll get more bino for the buck with a conventional body design, but handling is very much a subjective factor, so the choice is yours. At those prices, the Pentax DCF SP will outscore any of these for resolution and contrast and do it for less than what you will spend on the Razor. Your call.

The Razor I tested could have been a fluke, but focusing was rough and optics were not quite up to the asking price. Hate to make a call based on only one tests, so take it for what it's worth. I would be more inclined to go with the Burris on these. The Leupold is really an Olympic class optic with an open bridge and not quite up to the level of the Burris or the Razor. The Pinnacles is a step up and your best option in terms of optics if you want to stay under $500 with a conventional body design.

Thanks for the info. I believe I'll go with the Pinnacles!
