Hello
I am between new vortex diamondback 7x36 and raptor 6,5x32, which one would You get knowing that the diamondback would be heavier and want to spend minimal amount for good image quality? Raptor seems to be pretty compact. Is the new diamondback better than 8x36 monarch?
regards
Ragnar

Re: new vortex diamondbacks or raptors
Hi
It is really an issue of porro versus roof, but either will provide nice images. The Raptor, being a nice porro, will have a slight edge on optics, but the Diamonsback is going to have the edge on handling as well as durability and lifespsan as a result of its internal focsuing. External focusing sustems, as per a porro like the raptor are always subject to faster wear and tear. The Diamondback will be close, but not quite up to the overall quality of the 8x36 Monarch.
