Hi - I just received my pair of Brunton Eterna 8x25 from opticsplanet. In general I'm happy with them, and they have great optics quality. However I'm having an issue with the focus.
the focus knob is stiffer than i would expect. and there is a bit of play in it. after turning the knob one way, you have to turn 1/16 a turn or so before it 'catches' and begins focusing the other way. this makes it a little difficult to get sharp focus quickly.
my questions are: (1) is this normal, or do i have a bad pair?
(2)if normal, will the stiffness loosen up with use?

Hi
No, not normal - should not have that kind of play. Stiffness is a bit subjective - it might loosen up just a bit, but, in my expereince, never enough to stop being irritable if it is getting under your skin, now. I would contact our customer service and see about a replacement.
