Vortex Vanquish or Hurricane compacts

I'm kind of torn between these two. I need a compact pair of binocs for backpacking and photography where I'll need to pull them out in a hurry to scope out wildlife and birds for potential pics, sometimes in lower light conditions. My 10x42 Pentax are just to heavy and bulky for this, but I really appreciate the sharpness and brightness. I do realize I won't acheive that type of quality in a compact, but I'd like the best between these two. Thanks again for steering me in the right direction in my spotting scope purchase.

Reverse porro compacts like the Vanquish gets you better optics for the dollar than a roof compacts like the Hurricane, but you still get good optics with a PC roof like the Hurricane and better handling and an overall more compact bino. If the best optics are important, I'd go with the Vanquish by a slight edge. Overall, though, be tough to beat the Hurricane.
