Pentax Bino strap
Pentax supplies a variety of straps, depending on the model you select, but most are not padded. However, that is not a good reason to choose or reject a binocular, since you can always add another strap.
For my birding needs I am pretty well set, but I could use better camera equipment. Never did like digiscoping all that much.
The cheap optics outfits still have not come around to produce the ultimate knock off, should have been obvious: the 8.5x42 EL.
I have the ProMaster ED 10x42 and left it at that. The focus on those is too slow for an 8x all around binocular. For the somewhat distant objects the 10x is fine.
I understand. My expereince with less expensive open bridge, EL knockoffs is that most are plagued with rough and/or uneven focsuing. Must be something inherent in the design.
I like digiscoping for fun and informal kind of pic collecting, but, no, not going to get you publishing grade stuff, but, if all you want to do is view on a computer screen, it is fine.
For most of my use, I use a Pentax 8x32 SP. God compromise overall. Not an alpha, but out in the field I forget all about it. If it does not get the bird, I go get the scope.
