Not sure what size/magnification you are interested in, but I had that Pentax in 10x50 and liked them a lot, really nice glass. However, when the Zen-Ray ED2's came out with introductory low pricing, I sold my Pentax and bought the Zens. But the Zens just did not work for me (glare/flare issues), so I returned them. I was then wishing I had not sold the Pentax, until I came across a great deal on the Minox 10x52 HG model. I bought them and just took receipt of them last week. They are fantastic, and I don't think there could be a better product/value for the price. I really like them and think they are better optically than the Pentax.

Just my two cents...

Hi

The HG compares more favorably to the Pentax DCF ED than to the SP, though I have no hesitation recommending the SP in its price range.

Hi

The Carson XM HD is a great value and a best buy at its price, but you can't compare it to a $600 bino in regards to either optics or construction. No, not going to match up with the SP. The SP won't be twice as good, despite being twice the price, but it will be better.
