well i got my 8x43ed2 and a pair of 10x43ed2 i got say this is some really good glass,we compared these with a pair of 12x50 leica trinovids i know a fair test would of been 10x but my friend was always bragging how good his dads leicas were, well they ain't even close to the zens in calrity or brightness or low light, these ed2 are amazing in two nights with a total of 3hrs of glassing IMO the 8x43ED2 are the best the 10x got my buddies attention he really like the 10x till we were glassing for like 1hr 20min. in 20degree weatherthen he notice the tremmers worse with the 10x the 8x had a better DOV better FOV and were a touch brighter at low light, these Zens are really good in low light, impressing good.i wear bifocals and have a hard time seeing anything without my glasses on,these 8x43ed2 are the only bins i have ever looked thru without my glasse on and could see perfectly out of both eyes adjusting adopter to R/E. with the 10x43ed2 i could see good with L/E but no matter where i focused or turned the adopter i could not see perfctly probally not all the bins my R/E is bad but i could see perfect thru the 8x43ed2 with or without my glasses,i did not notice any grey ghosting or yellow tint on edges these things are nice clean crisp images and are user friendly,as in very very easy to focus on the 8x43 the 10x are nice but for the ease of use the 8x43ed2 is top notch,i can't wait to use these bins when all the colors are out,my friend will be back here this mon or tues. and has a pair of 10x42 leicas i am gonna see how they compare to these Zens,i had a pair of nikon monarchs and they are not even in the same catagory as the zens, these Zens are the real thing and there built like a tank, and at a very good price

I would like to get my hands on this stuff, myself. Will have to see what the budget can take, but your feedback is very encouraging. Thanks, again.

Joanie, Zen is run by a guy named Charles and as they run ads, they are now a permanent part of Birdforum. You have to join to discuss, and they do have an occasional Egale Optics salesperson posting there.

Once you join you can post in
http://www.birdforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=674

It might be a good idea to add ZR to your catalog for a while, as I think thye are selling OK for a couple of years. Promaster is the other brand wideley available. They have just two ED models.

I personally do not have a connection to ZR, and have avoided any brand connection, as people have been thrown out of bird forum for similar reasons. I am there to follow birding events as well.

Your ability to hold a 10x steady is largely a matter of personal ability and age is also a factor. As the years have passed, it has become increasingly difficult for me to manage 10x when climbing the hills, for instance.
