Last Question for Moderator-Vortex Crossfire 10x32mm Bnocs
To moderator or any forum members, what is your opinion of the following :
Vortex Crossfire 10x32mm Binoculars CRF-321 ?
For comparison, a model I am familiar with, are the Crossfires as clear and sharp as the Nikkon Trailblazers I have examined?
Thanks once again,

Have not had the opportunity to check that one, yet, but will be glad to post a review when I do. On paper, at least, the Crossfire has a lot of features for the price, especailly phase-correction, which the Trailblazer does not. I am also a fan of 32mm binos, so I also support your move to a 32mm.

You're right - no mention of that on their website. I would tend to think that is a mistake on the OP website. However, still a fine choice

Re: Last Question for Moderator-Vortex Crossfire 10x32mm Bnocs
These binoculars are not phase corrected as Optics Planet states, confirmed by Vortex correspondence to me.
I like them, but that feature was one of the main features that I chose in purchasing from Optics Planet, they should not be advertised as such.
I will sure read Optics Planet descriptions and specs after reading the manufacturers specs, before ordering in the future.
Have ordered many times form Optics Planet, have always been really happy with products and service, this is my first complaint, albeit, a minor one.

Hi
I apologize on behalf of OP and I'm sure they will work with you on a return, so you can choose another binocular that has that important feature you want.

Re: Last Question for Moderator-Vortex Crossfire 10x32mm Bnocs
Sunset, in this lower end bino class, I would not expect any 10x32 or 10x36 to be all that great. Vortex does have a 9x36 Diamondback with a little extra power over the 8x32 models typically found. Have not seen them, one person so far liked them.
I have three pairs about 10x42 size, and find that I can hold them steady for a short while. Smaller ones, no. Once I had some Nikon 10x25 reverse porros. They were hard to hold and dim in winter.

Joanie, thank you for extending OP customer service, reading back , you did mention that OP was probably the one that made the mistake in listing the Phase Correction feature. I just did not put together OP = Optics Planet.
I am probably making too big an issue over that, as far as the Crossfires, I am pleased with the size, and clarity of them . I do think the Vanquish line is better quality however, but not sure what I am going to do.
What would be a good choice in the $150-$200 range , 10 x 32 optics? The Bruton's seem like good binoculars, any others that you can think of? What are these like? E1032: Brunton Eterna Midsize 10X32 Binoculars ?
ET, thanks for your input, I agree holding 10 x's steady is hard to do, regardless of price, unless the glasses are heavier. The thing I have noticed in the times I have used the 10 x 32 Vortex Crossfires, is that I spend a lot of time adjusting the focus knob, much more than my 8 x 26's.
As far as the clarity of the Crossfires, I am not a professional reviewer or tester, but think the optics are very sharp.
About all I have to go on in terms of higher end binoculars, was a set of Steiner 10 x 50 Military Marine I owned for 20 some years.
They were fantastic in terms of optics, quality and durability, but were like carrying a piano around when I used them.

The modern 10x42s can be very light, like the Monarchs. No piano.
In you price range the Bruntons are probably not phase coated.
There are a few 10x36 models around. Pentax has an older model.
Pentax DCF HS 10 x 36 Binoculars should run under 300
Bushnell 243610 10 x 36 Excursion EX as low as 155.
Good luck.
