Would appreciate advice for the following models for viewing mountains, rock formations, wildlife, long distance objects . To be carried in ATV and hiking situations. Not for hunting!
Have been looking at the following models, but cannot decide
Vortex models:
fury-10x32 or 8x32?- pro's and con's
diamondback- 9x36?
Thanks

Re: vortex models
Hi
For distance work, you will probably be happier with a touch more magnification provided by a 10x, though the difference between a 10x and an 8x is mostly psychological than real in terms of performance. If you are using an ATV. no need to skimp on size. I'd go to a 42 or even a 50mm objective to get more resolution, but, of course, size does become a factor when hiking.
The Fury is a brighter bino with better build quality than the Diamondback. I'd opt for the Fury, even if it means dropping down to a 32 mm objective, instead of the 36 on the Diamondback. Really your choice as to 8x or 10x
