advice on Nikon Premier 10 x 42

Hi,

I am looking to purchase the Nikon Premier 10 x 42 7536. Can you please tell me if they have a nice solid feel in
your hands. Are they well balanced? I do wear eyeglasses and my PD is 57.5mm.

Im looking at this Nikon, or the Pentax DCF SP 10 x 43 or Leupold Gold Ring 10 x 40.

Thank you

Also, which one of these 3 would have the more beefier feel and quality?

Thanks again!

The Premier is a superb binocular and it would be my first choice of those you listed in terms of optics and overall quality, though, in truth, all of those are great binoculars. Should be ok on your IPD on any.

Handling, though, is a very, very subjective thing. I can't begin to predict what will feel best for you. You really owe it to yourself to get each in your hands and see what works best for you. I, myself, like most gals, prefer a lighter, slimmer binocular and, for just my hands, the Pentax worked best, then the Nikon and the Leupold, last. The Leupold is unusually heavy for its size and had its slick finish had a tendency to slip in my hands, but it an absolutely first class, rugged binocular.

Im sorry, one more question...

With the Leupold's 16mm of eye relief, can an eyeglass wearer get the entire field of view? I have relatively
thin lens that sit close to my face.

Thanks again!

Hi

Yes, that should be plenty if you have thin lenses on your glasses. 15mm is generally regarded as the minimum eye relief for use with glasses, but don't take the published eye relief figures too literally. I've encountered a lot of variation between the published eye relief and the actual eye relief you get on many binoculars. Should be fine on the Leupold, though. I used it with my glasses and did fine.
