It seems to me that because the objective lenses of reverse porros are so close together, that the resulting view would seem less 3-dimensional (most notably at close distances). Is this true?
Good point. Yes, you do lose the 3-D advantage with a reverse porro. Absolutely true. However, it will be no worse than what you will get with a roof prism compact.
