What kind of binocular to choose?

It is not ideal for strictly birding, as the field of view is a bit narrow. But the optics are good.
Whatever you buy, do not buy ZOOM anything. Good luck
An 8x32 is always a good compromise between performance and portability - not too big but plenty of performance. I'd look at the excellent Pentax SP 8x32, for instance.
