I've been trying to pick a bin for kayaking that's in the $100 range or less. The Minox BV, Nikon Ecobins (similar to Travelite), Pentax UCF WP and Leupold Rogue all seem to fit the bill. Any advice would be appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Bruce

Re: Best Binocular For Kayaking
Hi Bruce
Any of those would be an excellent choice. If it's a matter of value, the Ecobins win, hands down. They are really a special edition of the Prostaff. Only negative for kayaking, in my book, is the 10x. I'd probably opt for 8x for stability. Otherwise, the Pentax WP or the Prostaff are excellent choices, though I prefer the handling of the Prostaff in my hands.

Re: Best Binocular For Kayaking
The ecobins seem attractive, but I did not want 10x in such small size. On the water you want to grab them and see, so 10x sends you looking for too long.
Binoculars on the water make me seasick, so just take short looks.
All the reverse porros are decent for this, some are waterproof, some are not. I have Vortex Vanquish 8x26.
