Nikon Monarch Adapter

Postby skeenut01 on Tue Aug 10, 2010 2:33 pm

Hello,

I have a pair of Nikon 8x36 Monarchs coming to me and I will be mounting them occasionally on a tripod or monopod.

Do I need to buy the Nikon specific tripod adapter or can I use the generic L shaped adapter that I already own. I used this bracket with a pair of 16x70 Fujinons.

Thanks,
Jefff

Hi

The problem with conventional L bracket style tripod adapters used with roof prisms is the clearance between the closely spaced roof prism barrels. Your current L adapter may be a tight fit or no fit at all. Give it a try, but if that does not work, try one specifically made for a roof, such as the Nikon Monarch model
