binocular repair, water in casings
I left an old, but good pair of binoculars outside in a rain storm. they now have lots of moisture inside. I was told the should be filled with nitrogen gas? but it may have escaped. Is it safe to dismantle them myself or shold I send them in for repair and if so where do I send them? The are " Siam Cat Optics" thank you

Waterproof Binoculars
Thank you for your interest in www.OpticsPlanet.com. If your binoculars were fully waterproof, then yes, they would have been "Nitrogen Purged." If they have gone bad, you would need the manufacturer to fix that for you. We have many pairs of waterproof binoculars available here including:
http://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-monarchatb8x40.html, Nikon Monarch,
http://www.opticsplanet.com/noname.html, Pentax PCF WP, and
http://www.opticsplanet.com/minolta-8x40-wp-fp.html, Minolta Activa.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

I have a pair of 7x50 Halina
binocs that are supposedly waterproof,
but got doused and have taken in water.
I can't find a link for the manufacturer--
do you have info?

Binocular repair
Unfortunately we do not carry Halina binoculars here. I do not have any information on where you might find the company. Good luck.
