Tasco World Class 8x42mm
Hi
I have a proposal to buy an used (mint condition) Tasco WorldClass 8x42 for a little price but I have had no one experience with these series (I know they are maybe now descontinued and that they are not Phase-coated) so I would like to ask if are their optics at least decent? I am just wanting to use these to some casual daytime watching with no one specific worry about...
regards

Re: Tasco World Class 8x42mm
Tasco, in its dying years, tried to upgrade its products to better compete with Bushnell. The World Class brand was one of its efforts. The Tasco World Class 15-60x60mm zoom spotting scope was nothing more than the Bausch & Lomb Discoverer spotting scope, but it was nice. Tasco World Class porro binoculars had wide fields of view, images that were a bit better than most Tasco images, didn't focus close, never solved Tasco's problems with eyepiece focusing shifts when you placed your eyes to the eyepieces, & were stout & heavy. Addicted to wide fields, I liked them, but never carried them on hiking trails.

Hi
My first birding binoculars, oh so many years, ago, were Tasco and they did just fine. As you say, Tasco products varied widely in quality over the years. Just a matter of choosing, carefully, as always.
Tasco was finally bought out by Bushnell who still markets a line of Tasco binoculars.
