Which one I should Buy ....

Postby Pingali on Thu Jun 24, 2004 7:46 am

I used to have OLYMPUS 7 X 15 X 25 ( I know what 7 denotes but not sure what 15 an 25 denotes). Some how I lost my binoculars.

Now in the process of buying new one ... no need any water proof ... but wants a bit higher end than what I used to have.

Please suggest me which one I should consider (cheap & Best) .

Advance thanks for help & time.

New Binoculars

Thank you for your interest in www.OpticsPlanet.com. The is a lot of helpful information on binoculars here, http://opticsplanet.com/info/how_to_buy ... lars.shtml. The first set of numbers, either 7x or 7-15x, would denote the magnification, 7-15x would be a zoom binocular. The last number of, x25 or x40, would be the size of the larger objective lens in mm. That will determine the amount of light the binoculars gather, affecting how bright your image will be. The larger, the brighter.
Below are a few of the more popular everyday use binoculars, under $100:
http://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-8x40- ... -7216.html, Nikon Action 8x40,
http://www.opticsplanet.com/nik-8x25-tb.html, Nikon 8x25 Travelite,
http://www.opticsplanet.com/pentax-8x40-xcf.html, Pentax 8x40 XCF.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with. Thank you.
