Vixen HF 5x17 binocular

How would you describe the Vixen HF 5x17 binocular?

With the local theater having live shows I'd like to get a nice pair of low power binoculars that will not feel like they are sucking my eyes out of my head. Based on Joanie's advice, I bought the Zeiss 8x20 victory, the Kowa 8x32 and the Pentax 10x43 DCF SP. All of which I can view extened periods of time with no headaches or blurred vision. The shows will go on for about 3 hours. I doubt I will be watching the enitre 3 hours through binoculars but it would be nice to know I could.

Hi

Haven't used that particular model, but I have used a similar Pentax flat body, so I am familiar with the design. Looks good to me, as concerts are exactly what these little low-powered flat body binos are all about. Should do a nice job, assuming you can get by with the listed 14mm of eye relief.

The 14mm eye relief should be ok. The zeiss 8x20 have 13.5mm eye relief and they seem to be fine. Or am I missing something?

Nope, sounds like you're good to go. Obviously the Vixens won't be your Zeiss, but for that kind of use, should do the job.
