Requesting comments on 8X42 models

Hello,

I currently have an 8X32 roof and a 10X44 porro, but do not have an 8X42/43. Thus I am toying with the idea of getting a pair. I really like the Pentax DFC SP and Ed, but have also seen a number of reviews extolling the virtues of the Vanguard Endeavor ED's, Zen Ray ED3's, Promaster Infinity Elite ELX Ed's and Hawke Frontier Ed's.

Other than the reviews, I am not familiar with the latter four models. Can anybody comment on how these compare with the Pentax (or other better known brands)?

My experience is with the two Pentax models - the SP and the ED. You can't go wrong with either one. The SP is as good as it gets in ti's prices range and the ED can compete, optically, with the higher priced European and Japanese stuff. Truly excellent binoculars, both.

You confirmed my view of these two Pentax binoculars, models with which I am familiar. But what I am really after is how the other models I mentioned, brands which I know by name only, compare to ones which I do,like the Pentax.
