Hi all,

Just looking for some advice and wonder if anyone can help ?. I am looking for some binoculars mainly for sight seeing and wonder which would be better out of the below options:

Barska 8x42. Or 7-20x35

The reason I am looking at these two is they are both on sale at £40 each.

Any help would be appreciated

Below is a thread about zoom binos. Therein you will find the information you will need to choose between those two models.

However -- there really isn't any need for a 42mm bino for your stated purpose. You will be better off with a decent set of 7 or 8 x 30 or 32, which will be easier to carry. Many believe that an 8x30 is the ideal size for general bino use. An excellent example is the Sightron SII Blue Sky 8x30, which weighs less than 20oz. and provides optical performance far above just about everything else in it's price range. I have no idea as to the current exchange rate, but do check them out if they are in your price range. If they are too expensive, look at the Sightron SI 8x30' which is one of the least expensive binos with phase-coating that I've seen.

Another good choice would be the Vortex Raptor or it's near-clones from Leupold, Kowa, and others. Great performance for the low price, and also easy to carry sightseeing all day long.
