Pentax vs Nikon

Ranburr: Sorry to burden you again with another question but I'm trying to get the best binos for the money. How does the Pentax DCF HRII 10x42 binos stack up against the Nikon Monarch 10x42 for overall quality(clarity, resolution, ruggedness and especially brightness in low light conditions)? I see optics planet sell them for almost the same price. Which binos would you choose?

I am not crazy about either pair. Neither is bad, but neither is great. I am going to suggest that if you can wait, save the money and get the SPs. The Sps are a lifetime bino for a couple of hundred more. If you need binos now, I would probably get the Pentax. Quality is close here, but Pentax customer service is much easier and faster than Nikon.
