Confused on Minox Binoc's
I'm seriously considering the Minox 10x42's., but I see there are two models. the 10x42 a.l.t.'s and the 10x42 BR. I've tried to figure out the differences, but I can't seem to get a handle on it. Can anyone put it simple terms for this stupid guy?

Hi
The ALTs (aspheric lens technology) incorporates Minox's newest lens technology - aspheric lenses. Aspheric lenses allow for different shapes than conventional spherical lenses and are also less expensive to produce than conventional lenses. The ALTs also feature a slightly different body style with the center focus wheel located at the rear of the hinge rather than in the middle of the body as with the BR series.
Minox no longer catalogs a 10x42BR. The current models of the BR are limited to compacts and the larger (and much more expensive) BR ED models.

Thank you for the input. What are your thoughts on the ALT's? I've got around 600-700 for a budget and they seem to get great reviews when compared against others at higher prices. Any feedback on binocs in this price range?
I hate to buy something without being able to put it in my hands first.
Thanks again from the village idiot
