red dot scope for Beretta CX4 Storm .45
Please suggest a scope for this gun. I don't wanna spend more than $150. The gun will be used for target/home defense.

Try the tried and proven Tasco PDP3 for your Storm. Save a couple bucks and spend it on ammo.

Re: red dot scope for Beretta CX4 Storm .45
Thank you steven for the recommendation.
I have quite a selection to choose from at Optics Planet in the sub $100 price range. Can you tell me why you suggest this sight over the many others?
What are the advantages/differences with the style you recommend and this style:

I'm not referring to this particular model...just the open style reticle

I've sold hundreds of ProPoints over the years, including in a gun shop where I installed and beat them up. They've been proven for around 20 years. They're about as good as you can get for the money, assuming they won't be used too hard, like on a high recoiling handgun or shotgun with lots of use. Tubed sights are sturdier than other types in this price range, and will not hang up on foliage and other objects as easily.

My Storm came with a top rail installed. What type of rise would I need with this scope?

The Tasco ProPoint PDTS132 would be a great choice. The ring it comes with should give you about an absolute co-witness. If you want a lower co-witness it will just take a single 30mm ring like the XTR rings from Burris.

I am a novice.......co-witness meaning the iron sights are visible as well? That is what most say to have,,,,this is a new 9mm Storm,,,,,think you guys just sent me a soft bag for it!
Just looking for a functional low end yet quality ( oxymoron? ) sight. Thanks..

Yes, a co-witness means you will be able to use your iron sights THROUGH your optic if it fails. I/3 co-witness means your iron sights will be in the lower third of your field of view.
With red dots for your application there actually are products that will work quite well, even at nearly entry level prices.
Try the Tasco red dot BKRD30. It should work well on your Storm. If you would like it a bit higher, you can always add a pair of inexpensive risers, or a one piece.
