EO Tech Magnifyers

What is the difference in the EO Tech G23FTS & The "Generation II" 3xFTS magnifyers? The G23FTS mounts via a ring while the other mounts directly to the rail-mount. Anything else?

The new G23 magnifier has greater eye relief, internal adjustments, a sturdier mount, and comes with a spacer to fit to either height EOTech.

I understand that the red dots can have a less than crisp reticle. I was considring an eotech red dot with the 4x magnifier. Will the scope be useful with magnification or is the less than ideal reticle only exagerated when mangnified.

Also, I was hoping to attach the combination to my AR15 A2 with the cantilever mount. Will the magnifier mount up behind the scope atop the carry handle and if so exactly which mount would I order.

I was hoping to use a flip to side mount for the magnifier as well. Am I living in a dream world or can this be accomplished?
