While I would love to put an Aimpoint on my new AR flat top, it is just not financially feasable right now so I am looking for a reasonably priced, ($150-$200), tactical red dot that can pull the duty for a year or two.
I have done a bit of research and have come up with a few choices that look interesting but with limited hands on availability I need a little assistence on making a final choice...
It will be used for tac./compition close in work up to 100 yds.
Tasco Propoint PDTS 132, bad mount, questionable rep. least expensive
Vortex Strikefire, really like this site, red/green dote, auto off, lense caps, usa made, good mount, but not much info on it
Burris XTS-135, nice sight, most expensive of the bunch and have to purchase mount extra
Bushnell Trophy T-Dot, like the T-Dot redicol but hate the lense caps
Any thoughts, suggestions, or additions would be much appreciated!

Re: Reasonably priced red dot for AR15
The Tasco PDP series are proven performers and a great buys. I recommend them highly. The PDT132 does not have the track record of the PDPs. I like it a lot, though. The Strikefire seems to be a good sight, but again, no track record to speak of. I feel that it can be trusted, though. I like the Vortex company quite a bit. I don't like the Bushnell T-Dot too much. Small field of view and I can do without the reticle and the bulk around it. Out of your choices, the Burris XTS-135should prove to be the most rugged of the sights on your list.
