I was wondering what your thoughts on the ATN Compact scope? I want to mount it on my Marlin Camp 45 for plinking. Do you think this will hold up or should I spend $300.00 more and get an EOTECH?

Hi Noel,

The ATN compact scope is well made, and so small you won't even know it's on your gun besides the red dot. It's worth the $140.00.

But face facts, you can't compare it to the quality of an EOTech in any way. The're as good as a red dot sight gets. Of course, you have to pay for that quality, too. On your Camp 45, the EOTech is going to be noticeble a bit, with it's larger size and weight. You probably don't need the quality of the EOTech, either, just putting it on a fun gun with no recoil.

Buy the ATN if you can get by with less than the best, and spend the difference on ammo.
