Smith and Wesson SW40VE

I want to know what you all think, I'm going to be buying my first firearm and wanted to know if the SW40VE was a good starter pistol? I've shot various wepons and like this one but scared to buy because it looks plain. What do you think?

Sigmas are reliable proven pistols at reasonable prices. If you have a taste for one, buy it. Fancy has nothing to do with good.

I just bought it and I really like it except for the sights are aimed low. Now I just move the middle dot a little higher than the two back dots and turned into a crack shot from 25ft. I paid $400 so look for it around that range. I say get it.
