I anticipate getting the 8" for some asteroid hunting. Because I live in a light polluted area the scope will have to be transported to a more suitable area out of town. I've read your's and the Meade site but cannot tell what kind of shipping container is used. Is the container suitable for use as a transporter? If not, what container would be suitable? Something with wheels would be nice due to the weight of the scope.

Thanks.

Hi

You can certainly use the shipping box abd foam that Meade uses and, when Meade offered a nylon bag, you used the foam that came with the scope to fill the bag. However, Meade dropped the bag. You might find something similar from a 3rd party outfit like JMI

I found a JMI case, model LX8, that will work nicely. They also have an optional wheel set and fold down handles.

Thanks for the info.
