I anticipate getting the 8" for some asteroid hunting. Because I live in a light polluted area the scope will have to be transported to a more suitable area out of town. I've read your's and the Meade site but cannot tell what kind of shipping container is used. Is the container suitable for use as a transporter? If not, what container would be suitable? Something with wheels would be nice due to the weight of the scope.
Thanks. |

Hi
You can certainly use the shipping box abd foam that Meade uses and, when Meade offered a nylon bag, you used the foam that came with the scope to fill the bag. However, Meade dropped the bag. You might find something similar from a 3rd party outfit like JMI _________________ Thanks for posting with us

I found a JMI case, model LX8, that will work nicely. They also have an optional wheel set and fold down handles.
Thanks for the info. |
