|
|
Hello,
I would like to know what rings I should use to mount a Nikon Monarch Gold 2.5-10x56 scope on to a Thompson Center Encore .308 Heavy Barrel Rifle. I have a Base Mount part# 9907 from Thompson Center. I am going to have a sunshade and filpcaps on the scope and need rings that will allow for the proper clearance. Thanks for any help you can give me. |

On a 56mm objective you are going to need some pretty high rings. Is the Thompson base a Redfield stylye set-up or what? I generally use Refield styled rings from Leupold.

Hi
You'll need at least high rings and possibly extra high. The best quality Weaver style rings we carry are the Leupold, http://www.opticsplanet.net/leupold-prw-perma-rings-weaver-style-rings.html , but these are available only in high.
If you find that you need extra high, the only thing we carry is the lower quality Barska, http://www.opticsplanet.net/barska-riflescopes-rings.html
When there is some doubt as to mounting a scope, I recommedn taking your gun to a local gunshop where the scope can be checked right on site for proper fit. Many shops will mount the scope for you at no charge if you purchase rings. Beats going back and forth on a trial and error basis through the mail. _________________ ----------------------

| Thanks to both of you for the help. I was trying to find out before my scope came in, as the gunshop didn't know what rings we would need. Gun season opens on Saturday and I am trying to get my new gun combo up and running by then. Thanks again! |
