I have a refractor that will weigh about 11-14 pounds depending on diagonal, barlow & eyepieces used. I primarily plan on lunar and planetary viewing - NO astrophotography.

I have trade-off issues: weight, stability & price. I want an outfit rock steady for high power observation - pushing close to 200X. But I want a mount/tripod as lightweight as I can get for this purpose. I don't want to spend thousands but hundreds OK.

What would you recommend in the alt-az category?

What would you recommend in the equatorial category, with and without motors?

Thanks

Hi

Sorry, we don't carry an alt-az as a separate item that I would recommend, short of a Televue Gibraltar, which is model specific to Televue refractors, only.
