Stereo Microscope

I was wondering what type of stereo microscope you would reccomend. I am a geology student and would like something that would work with fine things like sand and clay, while at the same time be able to manipualte larger objects like crystals, gemstones and fossils.

I would also like to use it for things like analyzing coins, stamps, and maybe do fine work like soldering or model building.

Hi

Any stereo will work for those applications, with the possible exception of sand and clay analysis, which often requires more magnification than the typical stereo microscope. Best compromise would be the LOMO SF-100 which will give you 100x - unusually high magnification with a stereo. In fact, you could add the 2x auxillary objective and get an unheard of 200x with this LOMO stereo microscope.
