I know you say it's normal to see the secondary lens with a reflector telescope under certin conditions. Could someone explain to me what is going on is it temperature or light pollution? I was looking at mars (I believe it was anyway I'm very new at this.) And I saw a small circle with the three brackets centered on the planet. It was very cold outside and there was light from street lights and some light from my neighbors also. This was my first time using my 4.5 meade reflector and I have to say it was more then I excpected can't wait for a nother clear night to try to get the auto star working. Having fun trying to figure things out.

Not a matter of light pollution or temp - just a matter of something you have to put up with in a reflector, now and then, and not an issue as far as observing. Just ignore or move the scope a bit off axis if it bothers you. _________________ Thanks for posting with us
