wildlife detection

I am going dizzy researching if a heat tracker or night vision camera or what have you is the best and most affordable way to warn me if there is a moose ahead along the road side.
Am aware that upscale cars have the option and have found a device for $3000, but am looking for something under $1000
What would be your advice?

Hi,

There are no thermal imagers or cameras in the $1000 price range that I have ever seen. Most of the hand held units that we sell are $5k and up from there.

My advice is to use your headlights. A heatseeker will not work because of the technique required to use them. Night vision goggles are nowhere near as useful as light. Both of these units will be a waste of money for your application. High beams and slow speeds will work the best.
