A heatseeker has an LCD screen that lights up when pointed at a heat source. A heateseeker can only pinpoint the location of a heat source. It cannot measure it with any degree of accuracy and it cannot provide you an image.
You may find it is of some use for detecting heat loss sources in a house, but it will not have the sensitivity to detect tiny heat loss sources.
