i've just brought a bushnell 80mm ED scope which i'm very happy with, now my father would like a scope i was looking at the Pentax how does this compare to the bushnell
The Bushnell has a better zoom eyepiece. The 65ED is a great scope, but you need to use it with fixed power eyepieces to get the most from it. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

You will need a telescope eypiece listed at 13mm to get 30x. Divide focal length of the scope (in this case 390mm) by the focal length of the eyepiece to get magnification. This is standard procedure for calculating magnification in a telescope.
If you can afford it, the Pentax XW 10mm (for 39x) is superb. If not, you can still use the XF12 (for 32.5x) for some repectable performance. _________________ Thanks for posting with us
