Dear Joanie,
could you please recommend a pair of waterproof 8x25-28 binoculars around $ 100, preferably with a floatable strap as they will be used for boating among other things?
Thank you very much in advance and best regards. |

Hi
Best optics at this price will be in a porro, followed by a PC roof prism (Excursion) with a non PC roof (Spitfire) a distant thrid. Stay with one of the porros or a PC roof for best optics. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

Thank you very much again.
I had decided to go with the Prostaff, but as I was checking Nikon's order page I came across the new 8x25 Trailblazer. Have you got a personal opinion on this model? To be honest, I would be prepared to sacrifice some optical performance for the benefit of lower weight and double hinges, which will save space when folded.
Do these come with a strap and case?
Best wishes, M.H. |

HI
That's exactly what you will be sacrificing - optical performance - when you opt for a non phase coated roof over a porro. Go with with the Trailblazer if you want the design and handling, but you will be taking a hit on the optics in terms of image sharpness.. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

Thank you very much for your honest - as always - advice. I think that the person they will be a present for will appreciate both design and handling as much as performance.
Can you please verify that they come complete with case and strap? |
