Lomo Astele spotting scope 95 zoom

I bought the Astele spotting scope and i have some questions, I want to read newspaper letters in a distance of 50 meteres aproximately thats why i need this scope with 160x zoom. But I cant get a clear image, its all blur. Can u help me,do i need another eyepiece?

Thank you for your interest in www.OpticsPlanet.com. The LOMO Astele 95, http://www.opticsplanet.net/as95zmzoomsp.html, is an excellent scope and should have no problem focusing at 50 yards.

I would first make sure you have everything fully in place. Make sure the erect image prism and zoom eyepiece are inserted fully and locked down solid. Start on lowest power magnification (eyepiece should show a 24), and focus there first. If it still does not focus, then the scope may have a problem. Assuming it works, you then want to zoom in increments making sure to touch up the focus when needed.
