it looks like the Nikon 440 would do the job. But I'm interested the following:
1: waterproof ( the 440 is water resistant. My main concern is dust)
2: ranging moving objects
3: lightweight and compact
4: made in Japan (I know this one may be too much to ask)
No need for anything other than that. Complicated range finders programs would be wasted on me.

The new Nikon ProStaff 550 is waterproof and a bit more powerful and will do what you ask besides country of origin.

it's on its way. This weekend I'll be trying out two new toys. A Savage Model 93R17-FVSS and a Nikon Prostaff 550 I just now ordered.
We'll going to Norcal to help the farmers rid their fields of some pesky little squirrels. Community service you know. Wink
Thank you for your input

I ordered it on-line yesterday morning but it didn't ship until today. My orders usually ship the same day ordered..
What gives? Mad
