How does Leupold 12 x 40 x60HD Spotting scope compare to Nikon Fieldscope ED as they are in about same $1200 price range. Will be looking at antlers at 400-700 yards for imperfect racks.

Hi

Optically, I'd rate the Nikon in the ED version a better scope and you will want that extra magnification at that distance. The Nikon also has a great selection of optional eyepieces. No selection on the Leupold.
