I didn't know anything about scopes 1 week ago. I have now read so much on the internet that I'm not sure what my name is ! I'm 62 and haven't had anything to do with guns since VietNam so I'm really out of the loop. I seem to have a scope for my Henry lever action .22 magnum down to this: 4x fixed or AO. My choices seem to be: Bushnell 4x32, Bushnell 3-9x32 (some seem to think the rings that come with these aren't any good). Or Nikon 4x32 or Nikon 3-7x32 (will this one fit the grooved receiver?). Right now I'm at the point where I don't even want a scope! BUT I know I'll need one. I will surely appreciate advice from you experienced people and will order one based on your replies. Thanks, Don _________________ Every day is a good day, some are just better than others! |

| Hi Ryan, thanks - I was sorta leaning to that one but didn't know if I should get a fixed or AO. Some people on the internet say that if you have a target under 50 yds. you can't focus with a 4x fixed. |

You'll be able to focus, but the parallax setting is fixed at 50 yards. If you're shooting at much closer than this, your reticle may appear to move around in relation to the target if you move your head around. If you mount the scope to where your eye is locked into the dead optical center of the scope, then parallax is never an issue. _________________ Best Regards,
