Hi, this might be a silly question but I just wanted to know, if I get prescription lenses Ray-Bans will the white "Ray-Ban" in the top left corner of the lenses be there? On regular (non-prescription) Ray-Bans, it's there but does Optics Planet switch them out with prescription lenses that don't say "Ray-Ban" in white script in the corner of the lens?

Thank you for contacting us. It's a great question! Ray-Ban doesn’t have a prescription program. They authorize labs across the country to match the color, materials and technology of Ray-Bans non-prescription lenses. You will not receive Ray-Ban prescription lenses anywhere at this time. In this case we employ the largest lab in Illinois to produce the Ray-Ban lenses in prescription form. The lab is able to produce lenses with or without vision correction. However once they produce a lens it is no longer an original Ray-Ban lens with the logo.

If you order the Ray-Ban non-prescription sunglasses you will receive the authentic frame and lenses.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Hi,

I recently bought a pair of of RB2132 55-18 from here.
However i have a wide face and they seems too small for my face.
Is there larger Wayfayer? would RB4105 be bigger or pretty much the same?

thanks.

Hi

A bit off topic perhaps...

But I own a pair of Rayban 2113 54mm, which is similar to 2140 54mm in size as far as I know.

I am looking at the Persol 2978S 53mm or maybe even the square wayfarers in 52mm as alternatives. Would they be roughly the same size?

Hello Yale,

The RB2132 is the largest Wayfarer available. The Ray-Ban Folding Wayfarer Sunglasses RB4105 is only offered in the 50mm with a 22mm bridge and 54mm with a 20mm bridge. The RB4105 would stretch 128mm across your face. You may try them, some people have to try a few Wayfarers before they find the perfect one. Give us a call we will give you exchange instructions. 1-800-504-5897 option 5!

Thank you for the post!

The RB2113 in the 54mm lens size had a bridge of 19mm. This would give you a overall span of 127mm across the face. The Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140 in the 54mm offers a 18mm bridge. So you lose 2mm overall. By the way the Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses Iconic RB2113 is no longer in production by Ray-Ban. The Persol PO2978S Sunglasses brags the 53mm lens with the a distance between the lenses of 21mm.

Try some on, your find the perfect pair for you.

I have a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers that I bought in the late 1990's. The model number on the inside of one of the arms says "L1724 OTAS". The time has come to replace them. Of the Ray-Ban models available today, what would be the closest match in terms of size and looks? Here's a pic of the frame I found online:

Some specifications I found online:
* Lenses: 54mm
* Nose bridge: 18mm
* Size: 5 7/8" across, 5 1/2" hinge to hinge. 2" high
* Image: http://pantherray.com/bb15.jpg

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for the post. I would like to introduce you to the Ray-Ban New Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2132. The available sizes are 52mm and 55mm, both sizes have a 18mm bridge. try the 55mm, I think it will be a perfect replacement for you.

As like others I'm havig trouble finding the right fit for me. My head just seems too big, especially with temple length. Are there any wayfarers with a 155 or 160mm length? Its so hard to find measurements. Thanks!

Hi, I would just like to know if the sizes of the RB2143 (Wayfarers II) are the same as the RB2140 (Orig Wayfarers) or the RB2132 (New Wayfarers)? I was planning on purchasing this:

thanks!

Would a 50mm original wayfarer fit me if I wear 52mm new wayfarers?

Hello,

I wasn't able to find any wayfarer with a temple arms larger than 150mm. That's the RB2143 in 50mm and the RB2140 in the 50mm as well. I love the look of the wayfarer but my head is just too big. I feel your pain.

Thanks for the post. The RB2132 in the 52mm has a 18mm bridge. The RB2140 in the 50mm lens has a 22mm bridge. When you add the measurements you get the same value of 122mm. This is ideally how long the frame should span across your face. They should fit the same.

Thanks for the post. The Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140 and the Ray-Ban Wayfarer II Sunglasses RB2143 should fit the same in the 50mm lens size. They offer the same bridge of 22mm. Please give them a try!

Ray ban wayfarer Size?

Postby blake on Wed Aug 10, 2011 3:06 pm

I currently own a pair of Oakley sunglasses Holbrook and I'm interested in buying a pair of Ray Ban 2410 Wayfarers. Based off of the Oakely Holbrooks should I get the 50mm or 54mm in the Wayfarers. Thanks.

Blake,

Thanks for the post. The Oakley Holbrook seems to be designed a bit more over-sized than the Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140. Large lenses are in vogue but the Wayfarer is more classic. I would say try the 54mm and then the 50mm. You never can tell until you try them on.

Hello,

Thank you for taking time to post in the forum. The Ray-Ban Wayfarer II Sunglasses RB2143 comes in 2 different sizes, 47mm and 50mm. Both sizes have a bridge of 22mm. With that being said; to determine the span of the frame across the face you can double the horizontal lens measurement and add it to the bridge distance. In the instance of the 47mm size it will be 116mm. 116 millimeters = 4.6 inches. The 50mm will be 4.88 inches across the face. There are 25mm in an inch! the second number they provided could be for the temple arms. The length of the 50mm frames temple rams are 150mm which equals 6 inches. The 47mm frame has 145mm temples and this equals 5.8 inches.

I hope I didn't confuse you.
