Hi I have got a pair of 52mm 2132 with prescription sunglasses lens.
I want to purchase a 2140 as well, Does the lens for my 2132 fit any 2140 frame so I can put my prescription lens in 2140? Thanks!!!

Hello,

Thank you for the post. I can only speak for our lab. We would want to cut new lenses for the new RB2140 frame. It has been my experience that no two lenses are the exact same in shape. If the lab tries to reshape the lenses the integrity may be sacrificed. It's best that the lab just starts fresh for your new frame. Check out the pricing for the Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Prescription Sunglasses RB2140.

Please call me for any other questions you might have regarding placing an order with us at 1-800-504-5897 ext 320.

Hello,
I tried the RB2132 50mm and they looked to small on my face, because the lenses are small vertically,
I think I'm going to buy one RB2140, but I don't know which one is better the 50mm or the 54mm.
The wide of the RB2132 was ok, so I don't know which one to chose.

Can you help me, which one I chose?
Ed

Ed,

Thank you for the post. I would try the Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140 in the 54mm size. Of course the best way to determine fit is by trying all the sizes on. It sounds like the 54mm may be the next best size for you.

Hello,

Thank you for the post. The smallest model is the Ray-Ban Wayfarer II Sunglasses RB2143 in 47mm. That size only comes as the Black and Clear Frame with Crystal Gray Gradient Lenses, 919-32-4722.

The Ray-Ban Wayfarer II Sunglasses RB2143 has a 50mm but not a 52mm. The 52mm is offered in the Ray-Ban New Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2132. They fit very similar. I would strongly suggest you try them all on. I know one will be right for you.

[quote="larumd"][quote="Bloodkip"]Would a 50mm original wayfarer fit me if I wear 52mm new wayfarers?[/quote]

Thanks for the post. The [url=http://www.opticsplanet.com/ray-ban-icons-rb2132-new-wayfarer-sunglasses.html]RB2132[/url] in the 52mm has a 18mm bridge. The [url=http://www.opticsplanet.com/ray-ban-icons-rb2140-original-wayfarer-sunglasses.html]RB2140[/url] in the 50mm lens has a 22mm bridge. When you add the measurements you get the same value of 122mm. This is ideally how long the frame should span across your face. They should fit the same.[/quote]

Hello
I recently bought 50mm RB2140. I was wondering if it normal for the temples/arms to widen or stretch outward when I put them on. My 52mm rb2132 arms don't stretch outward when I put them on. Should I go to the 54mm rb2140?

Hello Alex,

You want to try the 54mm in the RB2140. You don't want them to flay out too wide. You want them to be comfortable too.

Hi, I have a question here.
my current glass frame is 55-16-142
I was wondering, if I want to get a pair of prescription [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/rx-eyeglasses.html]glasses[/link] in the Wayfarer frame, what kind should I choose?
In addition, I have a pair of [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/ray-ban-brand.html]Ray Ban[/link] [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/sunglasses.html]sunglass[/link] RB2132 55[ ]18. Could I just take out the take out the [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/sunglasses.html]sunglass[/link] lenses and put on prescription lenses into the frame?
Thank you!
Hong

Dear Hong,

Thank you for the post. If the lenses are the exact same size it can be done. however in most cases the lenses will be a slightly different shape and may not transfer over to the other frame. If that is the case you would need to have new lenses produced for that Ray-Ban New Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2132. If you want a new frame and new lenses try the Ray-Ban New Wayfarer Prescription Sunglasses RB2132.

If you are interested in either of these options call me at 800-504-5897 ext 320. I will be happy to give you prices.

Thank you for your kind reply, Larumd!
I guess I didn't say it clearly. My question was: is it possible to take off the sunglass lenses and ask my optometrist to put on new lenses according to my prescription? I just want a single vision glasses instead of prescription sunglasses.
According to your reply, I guess it's doable, isn't it?
Also, according to my current glass frame size (55-16-142), besides the RB2132 55[ ]18, can you recommend some other Ray Ban sunglasses/frame to me?
Thank you very much!
Hong

Yes, having lenses cut for your pre-owned frame is doable. I searched for "Ray-Ban+55mm+sunglasses" on OpticsPlanet.com and found the following: The Ray-Ban RB3198 Sunglasses. They aren't Wayfarers but they are 55mm. Also please take a look at the Ray-Ban Signet Sunglasses RB3429. Just for fun try the Ray-Ban Aviator Large Metal Sunglasses RB3025. They offer a 55mm lens in that style too. I am fond of the unique look of the Ray-Ban Sunglasses RB3424. These are a few models to get you started.

Please let me know if you need any other assistance.

Hello, people. I'm from Poland and I have a specific question for you.

I've been going through the Internet all the way in search of the differences between [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/ray-ban-brand.html]Ray Ban[/link] Wayfarers 2140 901 in the size of 50#22 and 54#18. Why am I looking for that? Recently I bought wayfarers 2140 in a size of 50#22. I was wearing them few days, then decided to give them to my Fiance, since they look way better on her face :D My face is kind of round in shape, not too round, but still, not thin. When I was wearing 50#22 size I thought of wider Wayfarers, then I found the 54#18 size. The next thing about my wayfarers was, that when they were worn, there was rather big gap to my ears from the place from which the temples start to arch. Is it right, or should the gap be smaller? I found it like they dodn't fit well.
Now, what about the 54#18 size? Will they be better for me, or there will be no difference? Is the shape of the [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/rx-eyeglasses.html]glasses[/link] in the size of 50#22 and 54#18 very different in general? The temples lenght is the same, I mean 14,5 cm (145 mm)? If it's the same langht, I'm not sure if it will e a good choice.

Please, friend, give me your detail opinion and your advice.

Thank you a lot.
Wayfarer Lover.

Hi,

I think the problem you were having with the 50mm lenses is because the sunglasses were not your size. Usually, when the sunglasses are too big or small they don't sit right on your face. I think that is why you had the problem with the gap. I would say that 54mm lenses should sit better on you. However, it is very hard for me to tell you for sure. The best thing is to try on a pair. You can always order the bigger size of Ray Ban RB2140 sunglasses and try them on. If they do not fit you can always return them or exchange them.

Hello again. Thank you very much for your reply.

By the time, I have tried 54#18 wayfarers at local optician. In my opinion, they fit well on me. I think, I will go for them.
The next thing I would like to ask you- is there a possibility, that you sell these [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/rx-eyeglasses.html]glasses[/link] to Poland, or it's impossible?
If it's possible, what will be the final price including shipping, for [link=http://www.opticsplanet.com/ray-ban-brand.html]Ray-Ban[/link] Original Wayfarer 2140 54#18 901?
In Poland they cost about 400 zł, which exchanged into dolars is 125 USD.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Greetings.
Wayfarer lover.
